1. This scholarship is designated solely for individuals who are commencing their first postgraduate (PG) degree program. Applicants who have previously obtained a PG degree are ineligible for consideration.
2. Eligibility is restricted to those who have been accepted into the first year of a PG degree program at an accredited university, college, or institution (hereafter referred to as the ‘Institution’).
3. For students enrolled in integrated programs, the scholarship will exclusively fund the PG segment of their studies.
4. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be under the age of 30 at the time of admission to the initial semester or year of the PG program.
5. The scholarship is applicable only to students undertaking a PG degree in a regular or full-time capacity. Those enrolled in PG programs via open, distance, correspondence, private, or part-time formats are not eligible.
Furthermore, the scholarship is confined to students engaged in recognized PG degree programs that culminate in specific PG degrees as outlined by the University Grants Commission (UGC) periodically. The nomenclature and duration of the courses must conform to the UGC Notification on the Specification of Degrees, 2014, as amended.

Procedure For Disbursement
NSP Scholarship For Postgraduate Studies 2024-25
Scholarship to the acknowledged students (as certified, and verified by the institutions under this National Scholarship For Postgraduate Studies 2024-25 scheme) will be disbursed by UGC through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) Mode and will be transferred to the Bank account of the student. This procedure will be completed through Public Financial Management System (PFMS).
Important Notes for NSP Scholarship For Postgraduate Studies 2024-25
1. Appropriate measures will be implemented against any student who provides false or misleading information regarding their eligibility or other relevant details for scholarship acquisition, as well as during the scholarship period. The UGC retains the authority to initiate actions or proceedings against such students and to recover the total amount of the scholarship disbursed, along with applicable interest.
2. The relevant institution and its officials will be held accountable if any funds are disbursed to an ineligible student based on their verification processes or due to the submission of incorrect or misleading information by the student or the institution itself. Consequences will be enforced against the institution and its officials, which may include blacklisting the institution and recovering the disbursed scholarship amount along with interest.
3. Unauthorized access to the NSP portal, submission of fraudulent or multiple online applications, or the entry of irrelevant data into the NSP portal will result in actions being taken following the applicable provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
